Curly hair for people who have straight hair.

I have ridiculously straight hair. And no matter what I tried in the past, I could never get curls that actually looked real. It just looked like, oh there’s a girl with straight hair who attacked herself with a curling iron. But then a couple of weeks ago, I remembered that when I was little, my mom would roll my wet hair in strips of fabric at night and in the morning I’d hair crazy curls. So I decided to try it.

Step one: Rags.

Find some fabric and cut it into strips. Maybe 1x5 inches or so, it doesn’t really matter and mine are not uniform as you can see.

Step two: Roll.

Now you take a small section of hair, and roll it up in the rag, then tie it off. Make sure you roll them all the same direction, as you repeat this all over your head. End product looks like this:

Step three: Sleep.

I’m going to trust that you guys know how to do this one.

Step four: Unroll.

Goooood morning! Now unroll those suckas and be horrified at the results.

“I’VE FAILED. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME, CARLY?”

Step five: Chill.

It’s alright. Just gently separate the curls with your fingers. Then freak out again because now it is SO much worse.

“TAKE YOUR HAIR RAGS BACK TO 1986 WHERE THEY BELONG.”

Step six: Seriously guys, chill.

Take a small section of hair once again, and just twirl it around your finger. This will shape it into a lovely curl. Repeat this all over your head.

And you’re done. Curly hair that actually looks natural.
