My breakfast: Whole wheat protein pancakes
1/4 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder (or 16 grams. I weigh it since the scoop isn’t very accurate) 1/8 tsp salt 1/8 tsp baking power A pinch of baking soda 3 tbsp buttermilk 1 tbsp skim milk 2 tbsp egg whites
Mix the dry stuff, whisk the wet stuff til it’s frothy, add them together, and cook over medium heat. Makes 2 pancakes, roughly 105 calories each, 11g of...
justalittlehakunamatata asked: Hey, girl! What do you recommend the most of a post-workout meal? Also, do you workout a lot throughout the day, or just at one time? I find it hard to find motivation to workout throughout the day, so I set myself a specific time - which is usually at night. I tend to run out of time that way since it gets in the way of my shower and then bed. How do you find motivation to do that?
When one of my family members that's in the same...
It makes my whole day.
An exercise in willpower
As I’ve mentioned before, I gave up white sugar and white flour for lent. Well we’re all having dinner together before bible study tonight, and I volunteered to make dessert so I could make something I could have. But instead of subjecting everyone to my sugar free oatmeal raisin cookies, I also made a batch of regular oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. AKA the best cookies in the...
zionthelion asked: I am planning to do jump rope as a workout, but I'm not really sure how to start. How many should I do? Also is jump roping better than running/jogging?
oh yeah and btw i LOVE your tumblr <3

postmoderngurls-deactivated2011 asked: Hi :) I was wondering, do you mostly do HIIT or long duration cardio? Or do you do a mix?
Thanks!
Thanks!
people-need-heroes asked: How much water should you drink when you work out? I was told when I played basketball and volleyball that we shouldn't drink a lot of water at one time because it could make us sick. So how much would be ok to drink while working out?
So I'm getting in bed much later than I planned.
But that’s okay, because I just helped my best friend through an existential crisis and we ended the conversation by making plans to hang out next week. So all is well. Goodnight all

Healthier choices
What was the last health related choice you made? Whether is was a good choice or a bad choice, what kind of impact did it have - in the next 5 minutes, in the next hour, in the rest of your day?
Everyone says that to lose weight/be healthy, you just need to “make healthier choices”. Well, we make a lot of choices everyday. Some are big and obvious, like deciding what to eat for...
So yesterday, we met our assistant coach for the...
She’s going to be coaching us at our outdoor league games in 2 weeks, and I think she’s going to be at our first outdoor tournament this coming weekend. And let me just say… I love her. She’s currently in grad school studying sports psychology, and after our first 4 games yesterday she held me back and said,”Where is your confidence? You are good. Your instincts are...
And won the two 6v6 games.
9-2 and 9-1. brb, dying of exhaustion.
7v7 tournament = Won.
11-2, 3-1, 7-3 (after being down 3-0), and 7-0. Two 6v6 games in PA now :)
beccaliving asked: What are the best ways to get protein? I'm struggling to get enough in a day...
hellistic asked: hey, i love your blog (: im not exactly healthy yet but i'm trying to recover, as you probably know its a slow process. anyway, if its not too much to ask i was wondering where you lived? like, just general area? and also i was wondering what workout programs like air alert and 30 day shred you would recommended? are there others you've used and benefited from? because i already have...
I won't be on until late tomorrow.
I have a tournament close to home, then 2 games in PA. I’m going to be exhausted. I plan on playing really well. The whole team will be there for the tournament, so it’s important that I perform my best. Which means eating constantly all day and running sprints in my warmup. I’m taking lots of snacks (protein bars, fruit, veggies, dried fruit, hardboiled eggs, nuts, rice cakes),...
Media fast Friday: Week one
So I missed all of you, a lot. And I had a fantastic day yesterday. So here’s what went down.
For breakfast, I ate Kashi Go Lean with 1/2 cup plain yogurt and 1/2 cup of blueberries, and it made me incredibly happy. I pretty much adore cereal, but I haven’t let myself eat it for breakfast in over a year, since most cereals have pretty much zero nutritional value, but this is totally...
Today was great.
21 minute 5k, to which my boyfriend said,”That training run would put you in the top 25 in the state for high school cross country. I can’t wait to see you actually race.” which pretty much made my day. Then we did some abs together, then watched Fantasy Factory and gave each other massages. Seriously, awesome night. I can’t believe that Jordan and I did an entire workout...
Okay, scratch what I said about not running today.
Going running with my boyfriend now, in the rain. I’m a sucker for him.

Week 12 of air alert, done.
Week 13 you don’t do anything, week 14 is superrr easy, then week 15 is four days of hell.
I must say, I’m ready to be done with this program. I think I’ll run a lot more when I’m not doing air alert 3 times a week, because it’s hard to force yourself to go for an uphill run (my only option) when your muscles are already depleted. I mean really. Just thinking about...
