You may think you're healthy now, but looking at all of your before and afters.. you still look way skinny. I'm not trying to be rude, but that's just how I see it. 5'6" girls should be like 115 lbs at minimum.
I know I’m way skinny. I’m a soccer player and a runner, and according to my doctor my weight is perfect for my lifestyle. Not everyone is the same :)
Did you ever have skin problems and if you did, has your lifestyle helped them any?
I’ve never had significant skin problems, but I have noticed that the more I sweat and the more water I drink, the clearer my skin is :) sweating is awesome for your skin if you wash your face after working out, because you sweat out all the toxins and stuff. Just don’t let it lay there and get re-absorbed :)
What shoes do you use for everyday walking and such? not training.
And in your opinion, do you think it would be possible to wear the nike free sneakers, just like in school, and walking around the city? or are they just for training :)?
- c.t :)
I wear a bunch of different shoes. Right now I’m mostly wearing my beat up sperry topsiders and my leather boots from gap kids. It’s totally okay to wear Nike frees whenever you want :)
can you give me a description of the air alert program? I really don't have the money to buy anything right now, and I was just wondering what it's about.
It’s 6 moves - leap ups, calf raises, step ups, thrust ups, burn outs, and squat hops, and you do it 3 days a week. Monday Wednesday Friday on odd numbered weeks, and Tuesday Wednesday Thursday on even numbered weeks. It’s all about jumping, and it blasts your legs.
prog blog pw? :) Also, I am at a healthy, or low weight right now because i have been restricting my calorie intake. But I don't want to lose weight, just gain muscles all over, especially abs. But I am not on a soccer team, nor do i have access to the gym. What do you recommend? thanks love, by the way you look amazing!
In your ask :) I recommend a little bit of cardio to keep your body fat percentage low (30 minutes or so 3-4 times a week), and resistance training 3-4 times a week, with an ab workout everyday :) pushups, squats, lunges, etc. are fine for resistance training if you don’t have any equipment.
Does your family ever go out to eat or order in pizza/chinese or something like that?? It's really hard for me to eat clean because we do this so much. :/
My family does occasionally, and the best thing to do is just make the best choice you can, and then watch your portions. With pizza, it’s best to go for veggies as toppings and just eat 1 or 2 slices. With Chinese/ethnic food, avoid anything with the word fried and go for vegetarian, chicken, or shrimp instead of beef. Then just eat a reasonable amount and let someone else eat the rest later :) I’m lucky that my older brother is like a vacuum cleaner so I just give him all my leftovers, haha.
Won 7-1 and lost 4-3. I played pretty well too, although I felt a little depleted because I didn’t eat as much as I should have yesterday. I’m going to up my intake this week and see what happens.
My youth minister gave my birthday gift to my dad at church tonight and and I just unwrapped it and it’s this beautiful wooden journal with Psalm 23 on the front. It’s seriously so beautiful. Now I really have to get him something awesome, haha.
Holy tumblr activity Batman! My unhealthy/healthy before and after is up to over 1300 notes. I’m not sure what happened. It’s weird because they seem to just be normal blogs, not weight loss blogs reblogging it. Also, I’m up to over 500 messages, which means I have to close my ask box for a while. It’s out of control. I’ll leave it closed for as long as necessary for me to get caught up, and I’m going to try and answer as many questions as possible. That being said, if your question doesn’t get answered, I’m extremely sorry and I hope you understand. This is a serious clustercuss.
I love everyone! I’m in a way good mood right now.
What exercises do you do to increase your flexibility? I'm especially curious about the ones for back flexibility. :)
I’ve just been stretching for 10-15 minutes everyday after I run. I thoroughly stretch my legs and I do bridges to stretch my back. I just hold each stretch for 30-60 seconds and try to stretch each muscle in all directions.
I see a lot in common between us- I was dignosed with eating disorders and am now looking for my healthy, normal weight after binging disorder ( with left myself heavy for my frame). I really want to tone up like you and have been focusing a lot on my abs. Since your abs are well...amazing, any tips/exercises/foods i should eat? thanks!
The thing about abs is that you really have to lower your body fat percentage to be able to see them. And the best way to do that is by eating clean and doing plenty of cardio and resistance training, not just endless crunches. Blueberries are really helpful for stubborn belly fat as well :)
i'm just in need of some help with maintaining weight, it's not that i'm gaining it back it's that even though i've started eating more and stopped excercising as much (apart from my hip hop dancing that i do 3 1/2 hours a week and stretching everyday) I keep losing weight. My family think it's beause I just don't eat junkfood anymore but it's because it doesn't appeal to me, so any healthy foods to help maintain/advice?
Just up your intake even more. Add some almonds, or soymilk, or an extra egg at breakfast. Some extra protein and healthy fats are really helpful when you’re trying to maintain.
I play varsity volleyball, and my team just started to do lifting. I also just started to try to lost weight, and every day i eat around 1200 calories. Is it normal to gain muscle from the lifting before i start losing weight?
Eating that few calories, you shouldn’t gain weight from lifting.
Hey! I have some more questions i need to ask!
1-When you say you need 3500 plus calories to gain a pound do you mean 3500 plus a day or a week?
2-Do you think drinking 2 liters of water a day is good?
3-Can you eat eggs while you're on a diet?or will it effect your weight loss?i always hear it has alot of fat?
1. 3500 surplus calories anytime. Whether that happens all in one day, or if you have 35 extra calories for 100 days, 3500 surplus calories is equal to one pound. 2. Absolutely, everyone should drink at least that much. I usually drink 4.5 liters. 3. Multiple studies have shown that eating eggs for breakfast is really great for weightless, because they keep you full for so long so you end up eating less throughout the day. Some fat in your diet is a good thing.
The ab workout you posted is spectacular. I've been doing it for three days and I'm already seeing improvements in the mirror! I can't believe it!
I woke up this morning with more definition than I've ever had in my tummy. This is so weird.
Anyway, thank you so much for posting it! You're rad!
I’m so glad it’s working for you, I love success stories :)
I'm absolutely terrified about eating eggs because I recently found out they have 133% of your RDI of cholesterol in the yolk. That really can't be good for you can it? My family has bad cholesterol history so I feel sick every time I look at an egg. I used to love eggs.. Am I being stupid? Or is the yolk bad for you? Thanks love :)
I don’t claim to know the exact science of it, but one of my best friends is taking a nutrition class right now and he and I were talking about eggs and basically the gist of the conversation was that eggs are basically the perfect food and the cholesterol in them is not bad cholesterol. So don’t freak out :)
What color are your eyes?
where did you get the heels with the buckles?
what was the biggest jean size you've been?
Do you have a favorite place to eat out?
What do you do as a hobby other than workout/soccer?
These are my favourite kinds of questions, the ones that don’t require a ton of thought =P
My eyes are weird. They’re kind of blue green, with really dark blue around the outside and gold around the pupil. People always comment on them, but I don’t feel like they’re special because my brother’s are exactly the same. Forever 21 :) There was a short period of time where I could wear 4s without a belt. Either the Purple Fiddle or Black Bear. They’re both local places with amazing wraps, and the Fiddle’s hummus is what dreams are made of. Oh man. I have way too many hobbies. I play a bunch of instruments, I sing, I write, I love photography, I draw and paint and make collages, I cook and bake, sometimes I make jewelry, I knit, I read… I do way too much.
Day Five - Why do you really want to lose this weight? Who are you doing this for?
Once again, I’m done losing weight now, so I’ll make it past tense.
When I lost weight, I did it entirely for myself. I can pinpoint the exact moment I knew I needed to change something. It was July 31st and I was at a waterpark with my boyfriend and two of my best friends, and I was embarrassed to wear a bikini in public. I wasn’t fat, not even close, but I also didn’t look athletic, at all. I felt average, and that utterly terrified me. In 2 months I had gone from feeling completely exceptional, to feeling completely average. So when I started losing weight/toning up, I did it to feel exceptional again.
Now that I’m happy with my body and it’s soccer season, my life revolves around my athletic performance. Yes, I do it for myself, but I also do it for my coach and my team. I don’t ever want to be a weak link.
Day Four - Your greatest fear regarding your weight loss.
Well, I’m done losing weight, but my biggest fear regarding my fitness/health journey is injury. I don’t even know what I’d do if I tore a ligament or broke a significant bone or screwed up my back. I’d absolutely go crazy.
For me, working out everyday means washing my hair everyday as well. Because i just can't stand the oiliness of my hair the next morning even though i know that it is extremely bad for the hair :/ So i'm just curious to know if you wash your hair everyday as well.
Haha nope, I wash mine like 1-3 times per week. I get a little skanky sometimes, but I really don’t care. I’m an athlete, people can deal with it.
Hey, your abs look absolutely amazing now!
I'm wondering, is atleast 70 grams of protein daily enough for a person who weights 165 lbs?
And do you think a protein bar with 13g protein and 208 calories would be a good snack or a lunch replacement?
I’d recommend at least 75-80 grams, and more if you’re active. And it would be an okay snack, but not enough calories for lunch :)
I got so many compliments on my outfit today, I’m in a good mood. But I need help, my youth minister’s birthday is on Thursday and I want to get him something or make him something or do something for him, because he and I are like, partners in crime and he already told me he got me something awesome. Any ideas?
I'm too lazy to do any ~real~ excersize, I'm just curious... Do you think fifteen/twenty sit ups and push ups each night before bed and morning before breakfast will help at the very least tone my tummy up? (Like, with a reasonable diet, obviously :))
No, it won’t. Toning your stomach is hard, and takes serious work. You’ll need “real” exercise =P
Oh and I just noticed you were homeschooled your whole life! So was I! Although, I never had the option to be public schooled no matter how much I begged my parents. Though now, I'm glad I never did. :) If you were never public schooled, what soccer team do you play on and with what organization?
Haha, that’s funny because I had the option, but I never wanted to. I played rec soccer ages 10-12, and then travel soccer for a couple of different clubs from age 12 until now. I also played a couple of seasons for the WV olympic development program team.
